Coachella-ella-aay-aay-aay!

Yes, I know it was in April... but it was sooo much fun, I haaaave to talk about it!

It was my first time at Coachella and I have to say it was quite amazing! Even from the first night we got there. Thursday night, I went to this party on a huge estate with free alcohol and popchips! lol. yeah, they had free popchips, which by the way, are soooo good! I'm now addicted... nice marketing/PR popchips! There were three different DJs, lots of photogs, and even a toyota photobooth, where you take a picture inside a toyota. What a great way to start off the weekend!

Friday was a big day for me because Wale and Jay-Z were performing... so we headed over to the Empire Polo Field and got wrist bands and headed inside... first performace I saw was Wale, even though he was 20 minutes late and didn't perform all his hits songs, he was still amazing! (see 1st clip below)... we also caught some of Street Sweeper Social Club, La Roux (love!), and Vampire Weekend, who I love love loooove! Finally... Jay-Z killed it! (see 2nd clip below)

Saturday was a lot of fun too... we saw Portugal, the Man... ran into some friends from high school and hung out with them at their camp spot, which they called "the shanty" and I have no idea why. They took us to hear Bassnectar and that was by far one of my best experiences at Coachella... strong bass and everyone going crazy! We also saw MGMT, Muse, and ended with Tiesto, who gives an amazing light show! We then went to an after party with free drinks, where Will.i.am was spinning and everyone was having a good time!

Sunday we saw De La Soul, Club 75, Phoenix, Miike Snow, Pavement, and Gorillaz. Gorillaz did not live up to the hype, but Phoenix was great and Club 75 was awesome! After that night I think everybody was exhausted and ready for some sleep... The next day, we got up, ate brunch at some random mexican spot called La Perlitas, then headed home to Pasadena! It was a long tiring weekend of fun-filled awesomeness!

Below are some of my pictures from the weekend...

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the new artists that I heard at Coachella that I decided to do it all over again! Well, sort of... there's one day of Coachella-like festivities in downtown LA. On July 17th, Hardfest presents HARD LA, 8 hours of music from different awesome artists all at one place. Some artist that I missed at Coachella will be there, like Sleigh Bells, Die Antwoord, and Flying Lotus... but also M.I.A. and N.E.R.D. are headlining... and I love them both! Should be a fantastic time! Go and buy a ticket and meet me there!

looks like so much fun! I'm super jealous, Coachella doesn't usually fit the concert budget. Hopefully next year!

It sounds like I need to get my hands on some popchips.

All of the good shows must be in LA. That's where I should be. O.o

Jealous, jealous, jealous!! I saw the lineup as soon as it was released and wanted to go so bad. Stupid grown-up responsibilities got in the way. Glad you had fun! Too bad the Gorillaz disappointed. But yeah, I'm going to definitely try and go next year. Thanks for sharing though ^_^
